Emmy and I took our first roadtrip without Daddy in early August to go to Rocky Mount to visit the grandparents. Daddy was very sad to see us leave, but I was sure he would manage for 2 days! We headed out on Sunday morning and arrived in the afternoon in time for a bottle and a nap. My parents were so excited to see little Emmy because she has grown and changed so much in the month since they'd seen her. We were only there until Tuesday, but we kept very busy. Sunday evening was spent playing with Mimi and Gandaddy. I was super excited to get a steak cooked on the grill for me and be able to relax. I was relieved Sunday night that Emmy still did great with sleeping in a pack and play. She doesn't seem to mind where she sleeps at this point.
On Monday we did lots of running around. Emmeline is on a pretty regular schedule, but we let it go a little for visiting purposes. We went down to Station Square to Chambliss & Rabil to visit my dad and the "girls" (Vicki, Debbie and Bonnie) They were THRILLED to finally see and hold baby Emmy and of course her grandaddy was very happy she stopped by the office. We tried to go to Central Cafe for lunch, but Emmy had a whirlwind morning and let us know she'd rather nap than sit in her carseat in the restaurant, so we got our order to go.
Getting some lovin' from Gandaddy...
Running the office!
In the afternoon we stopped by and visited with great-grandmother Nancy. We had seen great grandaddy Norca at the office earlier in the day. Nancy was happy to see her again, but it was a quick visit because Emmy needed her nap and turned into a fussy bug.
Tuesday we got out in the morning to go downtown to Bullock's because its always fun to look around at the things they have. My mom got us the most adorable Wake Forest frame that will need to be filled with a picture of us at a game this fall. I can't wait to at least take Emmy tailgating! We had lunch together at home while Emmy took a nap and then we packed up and were headed home by mid-afternoon.
Sitting with Mimi
We got back to High Point right at the same time as Rob pulled in from work. He had missed his girls something terrible and wouldn't put Emmy down.
She looks super thrilled to be in that hat... gotta love dress up!
We are actually headed BACK down to Rocky Mount Saturday afternoon for the super quickest trip ever so the cousins can meet. My brother's little boy, Maison, is 18 months old. We haven't seen them since Thanksgiving so we are excited to see how much Maison has changed and for the little ones to get a glimpse of each other! We also have Berkley's 2nd birthday party in Greensboro Saturday morning. Going to be a busy weekend!!
