Walka Walka

Emmy received a fantastic walker from her grandparents for Christmas -- the V-Tech walker that so many children have. When she got this in December, she was just starting to sit up, but wasn't moving around much, so she could just sit and play with it and have a grand ol' time.

When she finally started pulling up, we had to hide the toy for a while because it was too light/moved too easily for her to pull up on without falling down. Once she was finally able to pull up on it and stand, I was so excited to see how she enjoyed pushing it around. She LOVED it, of course, but she did not love when she would run into something and the walker would quit moving. Let the breakdown ensue. Sometimes she could figure out how to sit down and turn it around and get on back up and go, but most of the time, she'd just fuss, cry, throw a fit. My back was hurting from having to follow her around the house and help her steer. So, once again, I have decided to hide her "walka walka" until she becomes more adept at walking. Yep, mean mama. It's not like she doesn't have the dining room chairs to push all over the house. (This is her most favorite activity.)

Happy times with her walker

Ummm, what do I do now, Mommy?
I caught the brief second she let go and stood on her own!
Ran into her closet and couldn't go anywhere else!
